Every boy knows that being kicked in the crotch is the height of pain, the standard of mischief, the growing groan that keeps giving, the pain that aches so bad it moves into the stomach.
And being kicked in the groin repeatedly for years is like that, but worse.
I had a patient who was a soccer player. He was good at it, and he was a coach.
Several years prior to meeting me, he ended up in an emergency room with severe testicular pain. A proverbial vice grip had reached up through his testicle and grabbed his guts, and squeezed him to his knees. At the emergency room, they performed an ultrasound. It wasn’t a testicular torsion (that’s a thing, it’s dangerous, go get checked out, don’t let your boys lose their blood flow).
So, what was it? Nothing. Just a big-ol emergency room bill, some meds, and a “Bummer, man”.
The pain eased up but kept on keeping on for four years.
It was simple to fix. A one-hour visit, some breathing, and a lacrosse ball to reset the active trigger points, and after four years of waiting, he was pain-free.
Soli Deo Gloria,
